Shawn Goheen is founder and president of Goheen Financial Group, a privately owned financial services company in Sugar Land, Texas. The firm specializes in uniquely integrated offerings of estate planning, investments, retirement planning, wealth management and individual and corporate benefits.
Shawn is a 20-year veteran of the financial services industry. Long recognizing the lack of specialized financial planning and asset management for successful entrepreneurs, Shawn founded Goheen Financial – an ideal fit with the region’s growth and strong economic climate.
As the leader of an elite, specialized team serving an elite, specialized clientele, Shawn provides a comprehensive, dedicated approach that encompasses both personal and business financial objectives. Since the company’s inception in 1990, Shawn has grown Goheen Financial from a startup organization to a thriving industry provider, extending far beyond the firm’s regional beginnings and now managing more than $100 million in equities.
In 2005, the company opened its new headquarters, designed to accommodate a growing clientele and staff. At the same time, the group continues to expand and serve a broad client base, with word-of-mouth referrals comprising more than 90% of the firm’s new business.
In addition to serving his clients, Shawn is frequently called upon to conduct seminars on estate and investment planning by numerous banking associations including the Independent Banking Association of Texas, Community Banking Association of Illinois and National Association of Investment Banking.
Outside the professional realm, Shawn is involved in the community on multiple levels. Civic involvement includes Child Advocates of Fort Bend, Entrepreneurs Organization and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. Community involvement includes the Sweetwater Country Club Advisory Board, President of the Sweetwater Men’s Golf Association, Finish Line Sports 30k Run, First Colony Youth Basketball and other charitable organizations. He was raised in Fort Worth, and studied business at Texas State University.
